Our sponsored pilot won the second days of competition with a total of 12,033 points, beating the world champions Kapanina and Chmal and coming second in the overall classification.
“I’ve dreamt of competing in the Motegi Grand Prix for many years and that dream has finally come true. The competition has been very tough, which was to be expected with Ecalle, Chmal and Kapanina here, however, the hard work over the year has paid off. The silver medal feels like gold to me,” commented Fantoba at the end of the competition.
The Grand Prix, which finished on Sunday November 2nd , took place at the Twin Ring Motegi. This circuit is known worldwide because the Motorbike GP, among other things, is held there. The competition is a reference in the world for aerobatic flight, especiality Free Style, and attracted over 45 thousand spectators.
A maximum of 10 of the world’s best pilots were invited to compete in the two day Grand Prix. The judges came from Italy, Switzerland, France and Japan. Castor Fantoba is the first Spanish pilot to have been invited to attend this world renowned competition.
