This licence, which is only given by Top Fly in Spain, includes the commercial pilot licence (CPL) as well as an instrumental flight type-rating (IR) and a multi-crew coordination course (MCC), which allows flight in helicopters certified to be flown by two pilots.
Recently qualified pilots can perform work such as regular or charter passenger transport, aero-taxi and medical services with this licence, the highest awarded by the European JAR regulations. They can also carry out all kinds of jobs which require a pilot who is qualified to fly multi-crew helicopters and/or in IFR conditions.
The photo shows Josep Maria Ortiz, the first pilot to obtain a helicopter ATPL in Spain, aboard Top Fly’s FNPT II simulator, which is certified for MCC and IR flight conditions. Obtaining this licence has, without a doubt, been an excellent Christmas present after two years of hard work.
