On Tuesday December 15th , a delegation from Top Fly visited the Logroño –Agoncillo Airport installations. The visit was organised in response to an invitation made by the General Director of Roads and Transport in Rioja after the general director visited Top Fly’s Sabadell base last November.
Top Fly was represented by its director, Francesc Miralpeix, assistant director, Rafael Juncá, the finance manager, the CFI and the press officer. This delegation was met on arrival at the airport by the airport manager-representing the local authority, Mr. Javier Franco-representing the general director of roads and transport for Rioja, and Mr. Antonio García- public Works director for Rioja and the tower supervisor.
The visit served to confirm the excellent relationship between both parties and the possibilities of offering Top Fly the use of the Riojan airport as an international school, especially after being authorised by the Vietnamese civil aviation authority last month.
The airport offers the opportunity to practice the various phases of flight needed to obtain the licences and type-ratings necessary for the ATPL aeroplane course. This includes both diurnal and nocturnal instrument approaches and cross-country flights, which could commence in the near future. Meanwhile, there is the option of a greater Top Fly presence at the airport in the medium or long-term, with the possibility of setting up a new operational base.
