According to the statistics for annual traffic published by AENA, exactly 40,256 operations were registered in Spanish airports under the name of Top Fly-International Pilot School during the course of 2009.
Month by month, most of the activity was centred around the summer months: April, May, June and July. Thanks to the excellent weather conditions and more daylight hours, there were more than 4,000 operations per month during this period. January 2009, however, was the slowest month with just over 2,000 operations.
These figures put Top Fly first for number of operations in Spanish airports not only as far as FTOs go, but also in the whole General Aviation sector. These results are, to a large extent, due to agreements with various airlines from the People’s Republic of China. This situation will presumably increase throughout 2010 with the arrival of the first groups of cadets from Vietnam.
The incorporation of new Tecnam P2006T aircraft, the third of the eight ordered should arrive at the Sabadell base during the second half of February. This will, without doubt, help the figures rise throughout 2010 and consolidate Top Fly as the FTO with the biggest, most modern fleet in Spain.
