TOPFLY CONFERENCE SEASON: DECEMBER 20TH, AVIATION AND THE CINEMA.

The conference will look at the history of this relationship, with emphasis on the diverse sub-genres which exist. On one hand, military aviation; and on the other, civil/ commercial aviation. A third section will be dedicated to Spanish cinema and its relationship with the aeronautical world. Finally circumstantial aviation will be discussed i.e. films which don’t have aviation as their central theme, but which would be difficult to imagine without planes, airports or ingenious flyers being present.

Javier Ortega Figueiral (Barcelona , 1972)

Javier Ortega Figueiral studied law at Barcelona University and specialised in air law at Complutense University in Madrid .

He came into contact with specialised reporting when he began to collaborate with the magazine Airline 92 in 1997 and he continues to publish monthly articles about present day aviation in this magazine. He also writes for, among others, Bart Internacional, which specialises in executive aviation; Defensa, specialising in military aviation; Rotor & Wing, which is about helicopters; Ronda Iberia, about travel and aviation; National Geographic Travel (self explanatory) and he also collaborates with newspapers from Gerona and Ibiza as a specialist in airport and aeronautical themes, travel and navigation.
